Traditional physical security platforms are falling short in effective handling of new and emerging risks
Physical security platforms are failing to deal effectively with many emerging safety and operational risks, despite being expensive investments for businesses. According to Antare, the market is due a much-needed shake-up, prioritising innovation while making the technology more affordable and accessible.
Mark Michaelides, CEO of Antare, said: “Security leaders are facing a host of new challenges, alongside existing ones. The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, widely known as Martyn’s Law and due to come into force in spring next year, will place significant pressure on premises and events within its remit to enhance their security capabilities and preparedness.
“Meanwhile, reported shoplifting offences remain well above pre-pandemic levels, while the majority of frontline security staff experienced physical violence in 2025, and 85% witnessed verbal abuse.
“Such a diverse, developing range of challenges requires physical security technology to evolve accordingly, but the industry has struggled to keep up. Too many organisations still rely on after-the-fact review of footage, leading to missed incidents and highly inefficient follow-up and reporting processes.
“Too many businesses are also locked into long and expensive fixed-term contracts for their physical security platforms, often with a large minimum order requirement. Affordable and flexible alternatives are needed if companies are to succeed in an unpredictable security environment.”
Antare will be showcasing its new agentic security platform at the International Security Expo in London, 29-30 September. This will include its two models of body-worn cameras that work out of the box, alongside live demonstrations of the Antare Console and Antare App.
Visitors can learn how the Antare platform automatically reviews security footage, detects incidents, alerts teams and documents every event, surfacing patterns that manual review is prone to miss. The platform’s privacy and data protection capabilities will also be on show, which include encryption of footage on Antare devices and in transit, and the automatic deletion of secure, cloud-based footage after 30 days.
Crucially, the Antare platform is available through a simple, all-inclusive monthly subscription with no minimum order quantity and no fixed term, delivering the accessibility and flexibility that security leaders need.
Michaelides added: “We founded Antare with the aim of offering something different to the physical security market, promising a combination of exceptional performance and unrivalled flexibility, which we believe the market has been lacking until now.
“We’re looking forward to talking through the platform with visitors to the Expo. We’re also eager to discuss what we have in store for the future, including the Antare Cloud Gateway and our range of fixed security cameras.”
Antare will be exhibiting at Stand F81.
